Problem: SureTrak freezes when going to Help, About SureTrak…
Problem: The “Help”, “About SureTrak…” window is blank.

Cause: When SureTrak was installed, “Company” name exceeded 32 characters.
Fix:

  1. Hold Alt and press F4.
    This closes the blank  “About SureTrak” window.

    WARNING:
    The following may need to be performed by your IT administrator. 
    To proceed, you must be logged in to the PC with administrator level privileges.
    Caution should always be taken when modifying the registry and it is recommended you backup your registry prior to proceeding.

     

  2. Click: Start (lower-left of the screen), Run.
     

  3. In the Run dialog box, type  regedit.


     

  4. Click “+” to expand and locate the following path:
     
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER / Software / Primavera / SureTrak / 3.0 / User
     

  5. Locate and double-click the ”Company” key on the right half of the screen:
     

     

  6. Shorten the name in the “Value data” field.  A string of characters in this box which exceeds 32 characters, spaces included, will cause the Help screen to display blank or SureTrak to freeze.
     

     

  7. After making the string change, Click: OK.
     

  8. Close the Registry Editor:
